Pram Club was started over 15 years ago by Gorse Hill Baptist Church for church mums and toddlers - the first toddler group in the area. After a few months it was opened up to all parents in Gorse Hill.
Now we have members from all over Swindon - and dads, grandparents, child-minders and nannies as well as mums have all taken a break with their under-5's.
Our committee is made up of Church members, most of whom have had, or still do have, children at Pram Club. Our helpers are also Church members.
Who runs GHBC?
Baptist churches are all run by their members - we choose our minister, and elect the deacons who are responsible for all aspects of running a church.
Members support their church spiritually, with prayer; financially, by giving; and practically, by giving their time and talents when needed.
Members decide on the activities of their church, depending both on the needs of the church, and the needs of the community to which we belong.
Members are all Christians, and have all had "Believers Baptism" - Baptists, like many other Christian denominations, have adult Baptism by full immersion, just as Christ was baptised by John the Baptist.
If you live locally, call in to see us - the GHBC web page has details of our activities for all members of the community. Feel free to e-mail us with any questions about our church, about our faith, or about the many groups who meet here.
